LIFE: The Bad and the Fantastic

Lets Start with the bad news and end with the fantastic news. The bad news is Rob was laid off from his job on February 15th. This was unexpected and very devastating for us. With a baby due any day not having an income has been a very scary thing. The company he was working for was not doing well and Rob was one of the highest paid employees so his boss chose to lay him off. Rob has been applying for jobs constantly during the past few weeks, to no avail. We are hoping and praying he finds work soon. If you know of any job openings please let us know. Now onto the fantastic news!!!! Rustin has Arrived Rustin was born on March 8th @ 7:49 am. He weighed 8 pounds and 7 ounces and 21 inches long The labor and delivery of Rustin was much smoother than Ryder's. It was a long labor (well I felt it was long) It was about 13 hours from the time my water broke to when I delivered. There were a few scares towards the end. A c-section and the NICU were seriously discussed. I really didn't want either of those to occur. Thankfully Rob gave me a blessing and within the hour my fever went away and the Dr arrived and Rustin was delivered without any complications!! I was able to hold Rustin immediately, he never had to leave the room. I was able to breastfeed him soon after he was born. It was so much different from my experience with Ryder's birth. It was so nice to have him with us. We are so excited to have 2 little boys! Ryder is doing pretty well with Rustin so far. He loves to hold his brother. We are trying to be positive and enjoy this new blessing in our lives and not focus as much on the trial we are currently going through with rob not having a job and us having no income. We are praying everything works out the way its supposed to soon. In the meantime we are praying and trying to have faith that everything will work out for the best.

  3. I hope that Rob is able to get a job soon!!! I bet it has been a little bit nice having him around to help out since Rustin came home though. I am so happy that all went well with the labor and delivery, and that Rustin wasn't whisked away to the nicu! So happy for you guys, and I will be praying that Rob can find a new job very soon!
